Breakout Session 2B: The RAI Maturity Model: Best Practices for Responsible AI in Business

Room 210, Knight Center

(Presented by Dr. Amy Heger, Microsoft User Experience Researcher in Responsible AI at JeffreyM Consulting) In this session, Amy will present the Responsible AI Maturity Model (RAI MM)—a framework developed to empower organizations to pinpoint their current and aspirational levels of RAI maturity. Based on in-depth interviews and focus groups with over 90 RAI specialists and AI practitioners, the RAI MM contains 24 empirically derived dimensions key to an organization’s RAI maturity. These dimensions each have five levels, going from low (Level 1: Latent) to high (Level 5: Leading) maturity and are organized into three main categories: Organizational Foundations, Team Approach, and RAI Practice. By attending this talk, you will understand the RAI MM's structure and its role in driving AI maturity and be better equipped to foster discussions and strategies that champion responsible AI within your company.
