5 Transformational Goals to Achieve by 2027
The next five years are crucial for the St Louis metro if we want to become a global competitor in the world of advanced technology. Our leadership team has identified the most important five targets for our region to strive for in order to rapidly grow tech talent, tech jobs, and tech startups. TechSTL is committed to rallying the necessary partners, funding, and coordinated efforts over the next 5 years to achieve these ambitious milestones:

2X Tech Workforce: Double the St. Louis metro’s tech workforce from 75,000 to 150,000

50% Diverse Talent: Increase diversity to 50% of the tech workforce

5X Talent Pipeline: Grow the tech talent pipeline fivefold through scaling STEM education, credentialing, apprenticeships, and reskilling/upskilling

500 New Tech Startups: Support the growth of 500 new tech startups, with special emphasis placed on emerging technology ventures

$20M Founders Fund: Launch a $20 million “Founders Fund” to provide early seed-stage capital to 20+ startups a year

How We Are Structured
The TechSTL Council serves as the St Louis champion for technology by strategically and equitably investing in regional collaboration to advance tech workforce development and retention, along with spurring innovation opportunities in existing and new business ventures across the 15 county bi-state region.
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors provides long-range strategic direction and organizational oversight for the Council. The Board is comprised of Founding members, Mission Partners, representatives elected from committees, and selected community members at large.
Advisory team
The Advisory Team provides guidance and support for the Board of Directors. The Team is comprised of Mission Partners, elected leaders from each of the working committees, and a small group of key community members.
Founder Friendly Committee
The Working Committee devoted to growing the culture of innovation to advance the STL Startup Community and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Projects include Founder Playbooks, Events, Investment, and more.
Digital Divide Committee
The Working Committee focused on constructing the partnership network, resources, and opportunities needed to more aggressively work to bridge the digital divide across the St Louis metro.
Talent Pipeline Committee
The Working Committee tackling the rapid expansion of the tech talent pipeline through mapping IT career pathways, increasing regional awareness of St Louis, and developing incentives for talent attraction.
