Licole Bursey is an accomplished IT Cybersecurity professional and the Chief Operating Officer of Tekhub Labs, driven by her passion for technology and empowering underserved communities. A trailblazer from a young age, Licole earned both a high school diploma and two associate degrees by 18. She continued her education at Talladega College, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science while serving as Miss Talladega College 2018–2019. Licole’s career highlights include earning industry certifications such as ITF Tech Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+, and AWS Cloud Practitioner through NPower, a non-profit where she advanced her technical and professional skill set. After transitioning fully into cybersecurity, she used her challenges to fuel her advocacy for inclusivity and awareness in tech. As a speaker, Licole delivers powerful insights on breaking barriers, championing diversity, and building equitable futures in cybersecurity, education, and beyond.

Drawing from my journey as a cybersecurity leader, I’ll share how to break barriers through community outreach, empower underrepresented professionals with mentorship and training, and build strong, diverse hiring pipelines. This session explores practical solutions like leveraging community partnerships, early-career talent programs, and tailored mentorship to uplift Black professionals and other underrepresented groups in tech. Attendees will leave inspired with actionable tools to drive diversity in their teams, their organizations, and across the industry.
