TechSTL is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members within our Slack workspace. This Code of Conduct outlines the guidelines and expectations for behavior and interactions. By participating in the TechSTL Slack workspace, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Respect and Inclusivity
1.1 Treat all members with respect and courtesy, regardless of their background, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
1.2 Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language or behavior. Harassment includes but is not limited to, derogatory comments, personal attacks, unwanted advances, or the creation of an intimidating or hostile environment.
1.3 Respect differing opinions and engage in constructive and respectful discussions. Be open to diverse perspectives and approaches.
Professionalism and Collaboration
2.1 Use appropriate and professional language in all interactions within the TechSTL Slack workspace.
2.2 Refrain from engaging in personal or professional attacks, defamation, or spreading false information about other members.
2.3 Be mindful of confidentiality. Do not share sensitive or confidential information without proper authorization.
2.4 Contribute positively to discussions and foster a collaborative and supportive environment for all members.
Compliance with Policies and Laws
3.1 Adhere to all applicable laws, including copyright and intellectual property laws, when sharing content or resources within the TechSTL Slack workspace.
3.2 Respect the terms of service and guidelines of Slack, as well as any additional guidelines or policies set forth by TechSTL.
Responsible Use of Resources
4.1 Use the TechSTL Slack workspace for its intended purposes, including professional networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the TechSTL community.
4.2 Refrain from engaging in spamming, advertising, or self-promotion that is unrelated to TechSTL or the purpose of the Slack workspace.
Reporting Violations
5.1 If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it to the TechSTL administrators or moderators promptly.
5.2 Provide as much detail as possible when reporting an incident, including any relevant messages, screenshots, or other evidence.
5.3 TechSTL administrators will review reported incidents and take appropriate actions, which may include issuing warnings, temporary or permanent bans, or any other measures deemed necessary to address the violation.
Consequences of Violation
6.1 Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which can include temporary or permanent removal from the TechSTL Slack workspace.
6.2 TechSTL reserves the right to take appropriate legal action in cases of severe misconduct or violation of laws.
Amendments to the Code of Conduct
7.1 TechSTL reserves the right to modify or update this Code of Conduct as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to members through the Slack workspace.
7.2 Continued participation in the TechSTL Slack workspace after any modifications to the Code of Conduct will signify your acceptance of the updated terms.
